Kodama is also using their own parts instead of tried and true reprap parts. And in all the time they took to build and ship it much better printers like the MP select mini also emerged, and the mini is $100 cheaper to boot. In their campaign they glaringly omit comparing it to printers like the I3 which are right at it's price point and offer much better features like almost 2x the build volume, much better heated bed (the trinus one is seriously a horrible afterthought). It seems like an OK printer, the problem with it is the creators overpriced it from the onset.
